Beomeosa Temple – The Front Yard

November 10th, 2013

Since I had taken so many pictures at Beomeosa Temple, I will share them in separate posts. Please enjoy them leisurely. ^_^.

In this post, you’ll see the temple’s front yard.

From the bus stop, there were several steps to ascend and after that there’s the small creek with the temple name plate and a flat screen TV showing information of the area and a wooden information board with the map of the temple.

Beyond that point, there was a road that lead to the first gate. There were trees and big posts from rocks on each side of the road.IMG_8055 IMG_8056 IMG_8058 IMG_8059

I saw there were several trees being taken care of using bottles with IV lines. It’s interesting to see how the people here took care their national treasures seriously that even the trees were not neglected.IMG_8057 IMG_8060 IMG_8061 IMG_8062 IMG_8064

When I almost reach the first gate, there’s a parking lot on the right side and there was a pagoda, colorful trees and a recently built hall.IMG_8063  IMG_8068 IMG_8066 IMG_8069IMG_8070IMG_8071IMG_8077IMG_8076This is the first gate, ljumun, or according to the temple map, it’s called Jogyemun Gate.IMG_8067IMG_8196IMG_8195A short walk after that, there’s the second gate, Cheonwangmun Gate.IMG_8072 IMG_8073 IMG_8074 IMG_8075Inside the gate, on each side, there were two giant statue. It’s interesting to see coins on the statues’ feet. Hemm….did people toss coins there? For offerings? IMG_8082 IMG_8083 IMG_8081IMG_8078 IMG_8079
